Chief Deputy Danny Jackson
The Grant County Sheriffs Department is directly supervised by Captain Danny Jackson. Capt. Jackson is a 17 year veteran of law enforcement and has served as a supervisor for 15 years. He worked for the Saline County Sheriff's Office prior to his employment with Grant County.
Pete Roberts was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on December 18, 2008. Lieutenant Roberts is responsible for supervising patrol and the reserve deputy program.
Patrol deputies respond to calls received by the 911 center and the sheriff's office. After responding, the deputies compile reports that are available to the public, insurance companies, law firms, etc. The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) reviews these reports for follow up and possible criminal violations. The findings of the CID are then forwarded to the Grant County Prosecutor's Office for warrants and prosecution.
The deputies assigned to the patrol section also patrol the county by driving U.S. and state highways and county roads. During these patrols the deputies check residences and businesses searching for criminal activity.
Other duties include the transport of prisoners, service of writs and warrants, service of civil papers for the courts and assisting other agencies within the county.
