Grant County Criminal Investigation Division
The Criminal Investigation Division of the Grant County Sheriff's Office consists of Detectives: Lieutenant Robbie Bird and Detective Jason Teague. Detective Bird has worked as a criminal investigator since 1998 and has worked for the Grant County Sheriff's Office since 2000 and was promoted to Lieutenant December 18, 2008. Detective Teague transferred from patrol to C.I.D. January 1, 2009.
It is the responsibility of the detectives to conduct investigations of a variety of different crimes and suspicious incidents, and to conduct these investigations in a manner that is conducive to the discovery of the truth and the successful prosecution of those who commit crimes in Grant County. Crimes the detectives may investigate on any given day include burglary, theft, criminal mischief, and crimes of violence. These incidents are almost always investigated with assistance of the patrol deputies, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney, and other law enforcement agencies.
Information obtained from the public is also very valuable in all types of investigations. Lieutenant Bird and Detective Teague wish to encourage anyone with information about criminal activity, or any ongoing criminal investigations, to contact the Criminal Investigation Division.
